Ripples on the Shore, limited edition, mounted print
Limited Edition, mounted print of original textile art. Ripples on the Shore was created with rescued fabrics which were stitched using free motion embroidery.
A print was taken, mounted, signed and numbered as part of a limited edition of 50. It measures 32 x 32cm and is part of the Ocean series.
Living by the coast one can't help but be inspired by the sea. This is my interpretation of its serenity and meditative effect.
The original was created using silk, organza, net, cotton, velvet, lace and vintage lace. These were stitched with machine embroidery and hand sewn to depict the glorious hues seen along our coastline. Lace, including antique handmade lrace ceated by my grandmother was used for the gentle waves tumbling on the beach. Finally I embellished the piece with beads to represent the effervescent seaspray and shells that the tide has revealed.
